Works of Thomas Otway Plays Poems & Letters 1812 2 Volumes London Rivington
The Works of Thomas Otway. Consisting of his plays, poems, and letters. With a sketch of his life, enlarged from that written by Dr. Payne; Wilkie and Robinson; Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown; Cadell and Davies, J. Volume 1 includes a frontispiece portrait of Otway. Condition: Hardcovers; leather spines, some rubbing to raised bands and spine ends, but gilt titles and decorations remain clear and bright. Paper-covered cover boards have minor to moderate scuffing/rubbing to edges. Page edges marbled to match the bright blue marbling of the endpapers. Both have a previous owner's name written on the title and dated Oct. The name appears to be something along the lines of Jos. A few light, small pencil marks on the front blank pages from a previous bookdealer, otherwise interiors are unmarked save for a few faint pencil lines in the margins here and there. Age-related discoloration/foxing is minimal to somewhat moderate in a few places, but overall text is exceptionally legible.
