Charles McCutchen Estate; Princeton, NJ. I also have a few other recent collectible pieces & ephemera/art posted from this Estate and that reference "McCutchen Estate" in their descriptions.

This particular little gem was found tucked away in between Mr. McCutchen's Estate ephemera collection. Pen & ink, mixed media (lower left is affixed piece of the Williamsburg Bridge), along with watercolor to bottom portion of piece coming off the collage, and a hand written poem off to the right -- titled: "The Song of the Stork - January 5th, 1845". Subject matter: Stork, figure and other objects placed in the nest by the Stork, tied to items in the poem.

As to the 1845 date referenced in the title. Charles Walter McCutchen grandfather of. Charles McCutchen was also a Baptist based on historical records, clearly had roots in New York & NJ so it is believed that the piece was done by the Artist & personalized for Mr. Charles Walter McCutchen, hence the referenced 1845 birthdate/bridge in the title of the piece.

Charles Walter McCutchen was a partner in the export flour merchant Holt & Co. And bought Camp Pinafore from prominent Brooklyn businessman Edward B. Bartlett in 1894, changing the camp's name to Asulykit, a cheerful, if obscure, rendering of Shakespeare's As You Like It. McCutchen's grandmother was a member of the Shakespeare Society of Plainfield, N. Where the McCutchens were well-known citizens. McCutchen's Estate included a vast collection of original artwork passed down over the generations, including many pieces by listed artist, Jonas Lie. Also included in his estate were.
