OUR TOWN by Thornton Wilder 1939 Acting Ed. WARMLY INSCRIBED BY THORNTON WILDER.

PUBLISHER: New York: Coward-McCann by Samuel French. EDITION: Acting Edition, Second Printing. DESCRIPTION: ix, 113, [4] p. Inscribed by Thorton Wilder To Doris Quinlan, With My Thanks and Regard of Thorton Wilder.

CONDITION NOTES: FINE except for light prompting marks for George between p. BINDING: Bound in plain green hardback cloth, with familiar Samuel French front wrap bound in, no back wrap bound. 29 1946 Doris Quinlan was a producer and executive for ABC Television with a variety of works to her credit. Two photographs of Doris are laid into this copy.

Early in her career (Sept 29, 1946 to be specific) she had a role in presenting Thornton Wilder's work in New York City. The prompting marks for the George character may have a meaning that have been lost for now.

We also have a show runner binder from a Movie of the Week special starring Elizabeth Montgomery that Dorris produced... Evidence that she worked hard at her television career. Originally issued in familiar printed wraps, the Samuel French edition is the one preferred by thespians, and is the second edition of the play. The signed copy here was probably bound by Doris who kept it carefully preserved throughout her lifetime. This, however, is the good stuff, saved for last.
