1 Event flyer for Yoga of Joy. At the Friends and Relations Hall in San Francisco, which was renamed a few times, also known as The Family Dog on the Great Highway. The late 60's Bay Area subculture was associated with the rock concerts of Bill Graham Presents at the famous Filmore West and Winterland ballroom. These spiritual events were mixers with Hare Krishnas, Beat Poets, and famous yogis all in attendance. Family Dog attracted some of the best artists on the West Coast, and their catalog of concert posters are now collectors items. The event billing featured consummate Beat Poet Allen Ginsberg, Shlomo Carlebach. Composer and scholar known as "the singing rabbi, ". And Yogi Bhajan, who brought kundalini to the west, among others.

This flyer was recovered in an antiquarian bookseller's archive among many Tea Leutrec rock posters and other ephemera, in Very Good condition, one slightly bumped tip, a few creases. 8.5"x 6.5" Please note: the colors on the second close-up image are more consistent with the item.

Broadside print by the famous beat poet who wrote it on his way to Kansas City, obviously high. Lino-cut of the title and author's name. In black on light brown speckled paper.

Clean copy, no tears, light wear, faint creases along top and bottom edge. Alan Ginsberg's work came to typify the Beat generation, combining political dissent and stylistic experimentation that became the hallmark of 1960s San Francisco. These two pieces of ephemera represent his transition from the utilization of psychogenics to his later discovery of meditation to acheive the same end. I'm happy to answer your questions.
