This exquisite book was printed in 1944 in Paris. 1000 of those were numbered 1-1000, 3 were most likely editor copies, and only 50 were in roman numerals to be given out to only family and close friends of the Author.

This copy is one of only 50. It is lettered VII(#7). The Roman numeral copies don't pop up very often. The book was banned in 1950. The 24 illustrations are gorgeous and hand colored.

The front page is uncut, and the 2nd to last page is uncut. The last page of the print is in the shape of a heart and translates to. COMPLETED PRINTING IT WAS DRAWN FROM THIS BOOK OF LOVE > THE FIRST. > ILLUSTRATED WITH 24 IN-TEXT AND 6 IN-TEXT ORIGINAL IN HAND COLOR, 1053 COPIES.
