The stunning color plates are from the art of famous illustrator Harrison Fisher, who, actually did Cover artwork for Cosmopolitan magazine from early 1900 until his death in 1934. (Yes, Cosmopolitan Magazine was around back then) All of the color plates are signed, in that plate, by Fisher. Book is a valuable look into American.

A note about the illustrator: Harrison Fisher was a 20th-century American artist known for his drawings of women, portraits that regularly appeared on early 1900s editions of Cosmopolitan magazine. Bachelor Belles is a 1908 portfolio of Fisher s portraits each beautifully colored. These 18 illustrations are paired with American poetry and short stories and illustrated page decorations by Theodore Hapgood. This volume came from the estate of author Lea Wait, of Edgecomb Maine. Note detailed condition report, but in summary, the inside, pages, text and color plates are 99% mint. The outside is strong with a tight binding but the exterior surface is scratched on the glossy surface and has a film with a dark shade from. So, a lot like a treasure chest.
