Haku Maki Japanese Art Print POEM 70-29. Wasborn in 1924 under the name of Maejima Tadaaki in Asomachi in IbarakiPrefecture. In 1945 the artist's life had nearly ended. He was in a specialsquadron of kamikaze pilots. The surrender of Japan on August 14, 1945 savedhis life. Becamea teacher at a high school. In 1950 he took the artist name Haku Maki andbecame the famous printmaker and painter whom we know today. This piece of work is all black except for his "splash" of color. Starting price for this piece may be extremely low. Art piece is 22 1/2" x 7 3/4". Total frame dimensions are 28 x 13 inches. Original frame that is acceptable but could use some touch up. Framed by Kangas Gallery, tokyo. Print number appears to b3 93/102 but hard to see due to frame is partially covering.
