Silk screen printing as I use it becomes an art medium in itself as important and original and different as oil painting... I do not try to copy an oil painting, but rather I create a new work of art using the silk screen process-quoting Earle on the dust jacket. Earle designed the Academy Award-winning short animated film Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Book. His work on the backgrounds of Sleeping Beauty gave that film its mythic, timeless look, a style that carried through to many of his screenprints.
