Complete run of this short-lived but important inter-war journal dedicated to literature and the arts, founded and edited by Chaman Lall, an Indian immigrant and law student at Oxford University. Coterie had a strong focus on modernist poetry - including some of the earliest work by Aldous Huxley and T. Eliot - while publishing short fiction, criticism, and art. The journal published contributions by Conrad Aiken, A. Coppard, Edith, Osbert, and Sacheverell Sitwell, Hilda Doolittle, Richard Aldington, Russell Green, Wilfred Childe, Babette Deutsch, John Gould Fletcher, Edward J. O'Brien, Raymond Pierpont, Roy Campbell, Frank Harris, L. Strong, Oscar Wilde, and others, with illustrations by William Roberts, Nina Hammett, Amadeo Modigliani, André Derain, and Moise Kisling. 1 are split along the spine fold, toned, a bit dust-soiled, with some shallow losses along the edges, though contents are fresh and complete; Very Good. The remaining volumes all show some trivial wear to extremities, nos. 2-3 with some dust and finger-soil to rear wrappers, with a touch of dustiness along the lower front wrapper on no.
