Artist Profile: Born in Barcelona, Spain in 1923, he had his first solo exhibition in Barcelona in 1950 and moved to Paris. In the 1970s, influenced by Pop Art, he began to include larger objects in his paintings, such as pieces of furniture. He was awarded the Praemium Imperiale in 1990 and passed away in 2012.
