A beautiful antique silver and enamel locket. Circular shaped silver locket with an enamelled front, it has a soft yellow guilloche ground with, a floral spray tied with a purple ribbon.
Perhaps the most unusual thing about this locket, hailing from the WW1 era, is the beautiful engraved German poem inside. It has two compartments within for photographs or pictures, both are empty and not glazed. German silver marks on the small integral bale, it has a replacement silver jump ring and comes on a later sterling silver belcher chain. Good used condition overall, overall surface wear and patina, some enamel damage near the hinge, one of the silver gilt frames inside is slightly bent.1.5 length with bale.
