On offer, we have 6 editions of ART/LIFE "Communication For The Creative Mind" from 1981. Here, we have February, April, August, September and October/November. The loose pages are in plastic covers, some covers are printed with the titles. Mostly art, the limited edition prints and woodblocks are signed, and most are numbered. The pages vary in thickness from printer paper to thick hand made papers.
These measure 11" X 8 3/4" and the 6 weigh 2 pounds 2.5 ounces. He lived in both Santa Barbara and Ventura, CA. For 25 years, Cardella (and a handful of assistants) spread art and ideas through the monthly ART/LIFE. Each issue was limited to just 200 copies. Even so, ART/LIFE became one of the most prized publications of its kind.
It wasnt just individuals, but libraries, museums and universities across the world places like the Guggenheim, the Museum of Modern Art, Yale, Paris Jeu de Paume that would collect its editions. Cardella says that ART/LIFE was the longest continually published artists periodical of the 20th century. I believe these are in excellent condition. These is no way for me to know if each edition is complete, some are thicker than others. The papers have no writing, tears, spots or foxing. There is some wear on the edges of some pages.
