1943 Man'Yoshu Gasen Chosha Omata Kanpu Japanese Poetry and Period Art

The front cover is detached and has tears along the edges. Ex-library from the office of Doctor Professor Johannes Rahder of the Yale University Hall of Graduate Studies, with the information stamped onto several pages.

The binding is loose, especially at the bottom edges, so pages are loose and slightly detached at the bottom. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Kanpu Omata was the pseudonym of a Japanese Showa period painter and Waka poet, named Omata Shinjiro. In 1913, he went to Tokyo to study at the Japan Fine Arts Academy.

Manyo-Shu Ga Sen was his fourth exhibit, shown in 1940. This beautiful exhibit showcased depictions of the Waka poetry from the oldest existing collection of Japanese poetry.
