Pagination: x, [7], 2-180 [2]pp. Crudeli graduated in law in Pisa in 1723 but did not want to practice his profession devoting himself to literature and teaching, giving up the major cascade in favor of his brothers.

After a stay in Venice at the Con Contarini family, he settled in Firebze, where he developed close relationships with the English cultural world, together with a group of fraternal friends including Antonio Cocchi. In accordance with his heterodox thought in 1733, in S. Croce (Cappella de`Pazzi), he read a funeral ode for Filippo Buonarroti, which determined his future co-indictment of the Church. In May 1735 he was admitted to the Masonic lodge in Florence, the first in Italy, founded by the English.

On 9 May 1739 he was arrested in Florence and locked up in the prisons of the Inquisition in S. After 16 months spent in extremely harsh conditions, without ever having given in to revealing the names of other affiliates, in August 1740 he was convicted of heresy and confined to his home in Poppi.

In the four years of confinement he collected and said, among the serious after-effects of imprisonment, most of his poems and prose. On 27 March 1745 he died in Poppi.
