In 1946 Gilot began under the tutelage of Picasso, and would study with him until 1953. The two also had a romantic relationship leading to two children, Claude and Paloma. Picasso was not the only famous lover of Gilot however, as she was later married to Jonas Salk. After her relationship with Picasso, Gilot went onto work with Matisse, thus it is no surprise to see her canvases decorated with lively color. Today, her artworks are enjoyed across the globe, in many renowned collections, by critics and collectors alike.
