Thomas Kibble Hervey (1799 - 1859) was a British poet and critic. While at Cambridge he began a lengthy career as a leading contributor to the Athenaeum in 1828, and published Australia, a poem (1824) and Prometheus (1832).He later edited Friendship's Offering (1826-27), and the Amaranth (1839); contributed to annuals; edited the Athenaeum (23 May 1846 to December 1853). Thorwaldsen, Carew, Bienaimé, Bacon, R. With previous owner's ink inscription to front blank. In a half morocco binding with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, sound but with slight wear to extremities and rubbing to boards with slight loss to paper to rear board.Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under'condition. Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair.
